Kate Moetaua dedicated her life to teaching her students. She influenced the lives of so many young people, opening their eyes to the world of performance and helping them to gain confidence on and off the stage. Kate Moetaua inspired so many people and one of her final wishes was for a foundation that supported young talented people in the sporting, cultural, education and arts arenas in Wakatipu.

Head to our scholarships page to learn more about applying for grants, so we can celebrate your talents!

About Us: About Us

From 2019 to 2022, the Kate Moetaua Foundation has had two simple goals of using these scholarships to keep mums legacy alive by supporting Wakatipu children with the existing talent to achieve their full potential and to follow their dreams. During the early stages of setting up this foundation, community support has been the core reason we are able to raise funds for the deserving student we award scholarships. Behind the scenes, our family and Wakatipu community foundation members work hard to ensure we are continually making an impact on these recipients' lives. Mum dedicated most of her life to teaching and giving back to students regardless of whether she taught them or not. This is the energy we try to embrace during all processes of the foundation. This year will be the third round of scholarships which makes us extremely proud but also grateful because we are able to continue giving back.
